A leading engineering services firm is seeking a PLC Engineer to be deployed onsite with a pharmaceutical manufacturing client in Singapore. This is a hands-on role ideal for engineers with strong Siemens PLC experience and a solid grounding in GMP-regulated environments.
About the Role
You’ll support the client’s automation efforts by designing, maintaining, and optimizing Siemens-based PLC systems (S7, TIA Portal, WinCC). Working closely with site engineers, QA teams, and production staff, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring control systems are audit-ready, efficient, and compliant with pharmaceutical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PLC programs across Siemens platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve PLC-related issues in manufacturing processes
- Integrate and commission automation systems into plant operations
- Ensure all systems comply with GMP/cGMP and documentation requirements
- Conduct regular system checks, backups, and updates
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support reliability and efficiency goals
- Maintain change logs and technical documentation for regulatory compliance
- Train staff on safe operation and troubleshooting of PLC systems
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs (S7, TIA Portal, WinCC)
- Strong familiarity with GMP, validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), and audit practices
- Experience with HMI/SCADA, and communication protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Experience in pharmaceutical or highly regulated environments is required
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working onsite within client teams
