About the Role

The Malaysia team is seeking a Sales Engineer with strong experience in technical sales, customer relationship management, and business development within the engineering or automation industry. You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, promoting the company’s engineering capabilities, and expanding the company’s market footprint in Malaysia.

This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys networking, building customer relationships, identifying opportunities, and independently growing a developing market.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and promote the company’s portfolio and engineering capabilities in Malaysia
  • Identify and create new business opportunities across industrial, commercial, and infrastructure sectors
  • Build relationships with consultants, contractors, panel builders, system integrators, and end users
  • Generate leads and convert opportunities into projects and long-term partnerships
  • Conduct customer meetings, technical presentations, and solution discussions
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical submissions
  • Coordinate with the Singapore engineering and operations team for technical support and project execution
  • Track market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities
  • Maintain regular sales reports and opportunity pipelines
  • Represent the company during customer meetings, networking events, and industry activities
  • Work independently to establish and expand the Malaysia business market

Industrial Automation & Energy Solutions (Preferred)

  • Experience in Industrial Automation Solutions
  • Knowledge of PLC & SCADA Systems
  • Exposure to Energy Management Solutions
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Experience with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure / PME solutions is an added advantage
  • Understanding of industrial electrical engineering solutions and system applications

What We’re Looking For

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or related Engineering field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in technical sales or business development
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good understanding of industrial automation or electrical engineering solutions
  • Experience developing new customer networks and market opportunities
  • Willingness to travel within Malaysia when required
  • Must be able to communicate in Mandarin (Chinese) for site coordination and technical discussions

Preferred (Added Advantage)

  • Existing networks within industrial, commercial, or infrastructure sectors
  • Experience handling automation or energy management projects
  • Strong business development and negotiation skills
  • Ability to identify opportunities and build customer trust independently
  • Experience working with consultants, contractors, and system integrators
  • Good reporting, pipeline management, and proposal preparation skills
